Neil Barker – M.Ed Leadership, Grad. Dip. Special Ed., Dip. Teaching, FACEL

Neil is the former Director of the Bastow Institute of Educational Leadership. He has more than 40 years experience in the education, not-for-profit and arts sectors. He has worked in juvenile justice settings, specialist and primary schools, and at the Zoo Education Service in Victoria.

Neil has undertaken leadership and education roles in Emergency Management, in the Not for Profit sector, and in education policy. Neil was Principal at Wales Street Primary School between 1997 and 2007. He loves to design and deliver innovative professional learning. His passion is working with people and he is excited by new ideas and challenges.

In 2016 Neil was awarded an Australian Council of Educational Leaders Victorian Fellowship, and in 2019 a National Fellowship, for those who have made an outstanding contribution to the study and practice of educational leadership.

Lisa Black – B.Ed (Arts), FACEL

Lisa has over 35 years of experience working at all levels in public education; schools, region, and central office and, most recently, eight years as senior manager at the Bastow Institute of Educational Leadership in Victoria.

With a background in teaching and school leadership in the Victorian public sector, Lisa is passionate about ensuring all students have every opportunity to thrive, regardless of their circumstances, through the professional development of leaders at all stages of their career.

Lisa led the development of broad range of education initiatives, including Communities of Practice strategy and professional learning for School Network Chairs, the WISE system leaders programs for senior principals and Senior Education Improvement Leaders, an online Literacy Leaders course for school literacy leaders and various train the trainer professional learning programs.

In 2019 Lisa was awarded an Australian Council of Educational Leaders Victorian Fellowship, for those who have made an outstanding contribution to the study and practice of educational leadership.

Josh is an online learning expert who has overseen large scale digital transformations for educational institutions across K-12 and tertiary education. In both the public and private sector Josh has established and overseen digital learning teams spanning ecosystem design, learning design, multimedia development, course delivery and quality assurance.

Josh is passionate about excellence in digital learning and has been at the cutting edge of innovative, engaging, high quality digital learning. He loves a challenge and to create the new.
